Just wanted to drop a quick caution. Angel Trumpet is the same as Datura Stramonium (One of the more the 12 species of Jimson Weed), whick looks very nice, yes, BUT, it is not safe. It is a "Belladonna", and has in it a number of very strong, and bad things in it. Animals are at risk from eating it, and obviously kids from misuse, but most people dont know that you can get something called "Gardener's Mydriasis", just from cutting the plant. Here is a paragraph from a sight i know, stating some accadents.

""Accidental exposure of adults has also been reported in the literature. An 82 year old male mistakenly ate the root of an Angel's Trumpet, Datura innoxia for a horseradish in his garden.(8) "Gardener's Mydriasis" was reported in a 54 year old male who complained of blurred vision after cutting Angel's Trumpet, Datura suaveolens, in his garden.(9) A 49 year old woman presented with delirium after making a tea to use as a mouthwash for treating gingivitis from a plant in her friend's garden.(14) "Cornpicker's Pupil" is another presentation of mydriasis after exposure during harvesting.(2)""

Just thought i would let you know, because alot of people dont know the SERIOUSNESS of this plant. I will leave you with what i think is the best dicription of the effects.

The mnemonic for clinical effects of typical atropine poisoning is: "blind as a bat, mad as a hatter, red as a beet, hot as a hare, dry as a bone, the bowel and bladder lose their tone, and the heart runs alone.

yupppiiii! so good to read a post from you. don't worry about the time in between post, i too had many, many months that i was barely around the computer.

you were literately snowed in, wow, that is alot of snow. but it is also so beautiful, like greeting cards beauty. i'm not crazy over the too cold but i can sure enjoy a good snowfall, specially in the mountains-breathtaking!

i imagine now your garden is blooming and birds are singing and all is green and you are in heaven gardening away. i like to think that anyways and hope it is so.

i'm truly sorry for all that happened to your hubby's and your heart. that must have been such an awful time and i don't think there is one of us that wouldn't have stress and worried.

i'm soooo happy that he is healthy and well. let us pray and hope that this was a one time thing and it will never come on knocking again.

best wishes to you and him for a very deserving peaceful spring/summer. hugs from us here. take care and be well. xooxoxoxooxoxox

The nicest surprise I've had all day, just dropping in an actually finding you home! I'm so sorry you had to suffer through a crazy winter like that especially with Terry so sick. Glad to hear he's back on track. I missed you!

Welcome "back"! I'm glad to hear that Terry's health issues are (more-or-less) worked out but - Yikes! It certainly would have scared me.

That's an awful lot of snow you've got there. :-)

Well hello, I wondered if you would be back.

After reading this post you've had a pretty traumatic winter. Pleased everything is getting back to normal.
You certainly had your share of snow and whilst I like the stuff I' m glad that we dont have that amount. One small snowfall causes chaos here in the UK.

I look forward ot hearing more and seeing your pictures again. Cheers.
